Creating a healthy community space

Ekkist, together with Office S&M, won a bid to design a new 600m² community arts and well-being space at Queen’s Market in the borough of Newham, London. Ekkist’s role in the project is to support the client and design team in creating a truly healthy community space.

The project is part of a wider plan to redevelop the area and provide more opportunities for residents and businesses in Newham. The project is one part of a £5.3 million investment from Newham Council and the GLA which will create more opportunities for local residents and businesses.

The space will be operated by Rosetta Arts, who provide creative courses, workshops and experiences for people in east London, reaching those who otherwise have little access to the rich and transformative benefits of the arts and education. Our teams, along with the council, will lead co-design and engagement programmes in the local area.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS A SIMILAR PROJECT WITH EKKIST, WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.
