Advising on WELL Building Standard Core Certification for Confidential Office
Ekkist provided advice on a confidential Office Project to assess the current design of the building in relation to WELL Core requirements for WELL Building Standard Core and Shell Certification, and are providing the client with advice and support for targeting Certification.
Health and well-being is increasingly becoming a top priority for employers and landlords alike, alongside a growing demand for WELL Certification for office buildings.
The main considerations in designing Core and Shell spaces to meet WELL Building Standard requirements are: the quality of daylight and electric light that will be provided in the building; the specification of the core ventilation systems (ensuring good ventilation rates and levels of filtration); water filtration and maintenance on site to ensure the absence of harmful chemicals and bacteria; and the management of the building, ranging from healthy practices for staff working onsite, to the quality of any food being provided to employees or tenants, to the cleaning protocol for the building and the availability of information around mental and health and well-being for employees and tenants.
We are actively engaging with landlords to raise awareness and understanding of how design for well-being can help to differentiate their offering and support employee health and well-being whilst also having the potential to add value to leases and improve occupancy rates.
If you have an office project which you would like to discuss with us, we would love to hear from you.
