Adapting Blueprint to Sloping Site

Ekkist adapted the Urban Wellness House concept for an irregular sloped site in a Surrey town for the purpose of evaluating development potential. The flexibility of the concept was used to create an idea for a multi-generational home, where there was a requirement to have an annexe as part of the design.

The design is based on health and well-being principles, maximising views and access to natural light. It also allows for an additional modular component to be incorporated in future to accommodate a multi-generational family, which complements the main built form but can also function independently.

Working together with Studio McLeod architects, this approach was a quick and cost-effective way of analysing development potential on this difficult site, and allowed the owners to test the initial viability of development potential on the land and create preliminary visuals to be used in the pre-planning process.
